Tools
In this section of the Toolbox, you will find an overview of specific tools your community can use to address a land use issue.
The graphic of a toolbox in the left menu bar is the icon that is used throughout this section to let you know you are in the "Tools" section. Each tool includes an overview in the “In Brief” box, followed by a “Summary” of the selected Tool that includes information on the issue to which it relates and how a community can apply the tool. This is intended as an overview to help you understand the tool and whether it would be useful for your community. It can also be used to start the discussion in your town or as a handout for others who are not familiar with the tool. Some tools also include a “Resource” section that provides more detailed and/or in depth information. On the left hand menu bar, you will find related Issues and Case Studies.
This Toolbox will be updated on a regular basis, so if a Tool you are interested in learning more about is not currently available, please check back, or e-mail us with your suggestions.
